When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.
For this reason, The University of Akron is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of 黄色直播 alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.
If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The University of Akron, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

Malyuk Scholarship for Home-Schooled Students
The Malyuk Scholarship for Home Schooled Students was established in 2003 to assist a talented and deserving student of music, dance, or art at The University of Akron. The Malyuks created this scholarship especially for home-schooled students because of their strong belief in the value of home schooling. Qualified students will have been home schooled at some time in their academic careers, in accordance with the Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 3301-34 (Rules for Excuses From Compulsory Attendance for Home Education) or comparable regulations set forth by the student’s home state. Eligible students also will have been accepted into the School of Music, the Dance Program, or the Myers School of Art; be full-time students; and will major in music, dance or art. The recipient will be selected by the College of Fine and Applied Arts in consultation with the Office of Student Financial Aid, with final approval given by Susan or Michael Malyuk. The scholarship will be awarded based on talent and/or financial need. The scholarship is renewable, but applicants must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA to be eligible to reapply.
