When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.
For this reason, The University of Akron is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of 黄色直播 alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.
If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The University of Akron, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Students who want to apply for scholarships should visit the scholarship page on the Financial Aid site. You can find the link for the online application here.
The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

Kirkwood, Charles Scholarship Fund
The Charles Kirkwood Scholarship Fund was established in 2014 with a gift from alumnus Lawrence M. Kelly. A former student of Professor Kirkwood, Kelly credits his success to Kirkwood.
Professor Kirkwood was a member of the Akron Law faculty from 1980 until his retirement in 1994, at which time he was named professor emeritus. He taught courses in trial advocacy, criminal law, torts, civil procedure, and legal profession. However, Professor Kirkwood is best remembered as Akron Law’s legendary Mock Trial Team coach. To this day, many of his prior students attribute their success as trial attorneys to the advocacy skills taught by Kirkwood. The Mock Trial program that Kirkwood developed continues to this day under the leadership of Attorney Lawrence A. Sutter, a former student of Kirkwood’s who also attributes much of his success to the skills learned from Kirkwood.
The Charles Kirkwood Scholarship Fund is designated to scholarships for students of The University of Akron School of Law who are active in the Mock Trial Team program. Scholarship awards may cover tuition, fees, books, and room and board, all or in part. The School of Law scholarship committee will select The Charles Kirkwood Scholarship Fund recipient after reviewing the top candidates with Kelly. Kelly has asked to be given the opportunity to notify the scholarship award recipient(s) each year, so that he may share information about Kirkwood with them.
