When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.
For this reason, The University of Akron is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of 黄色直播 alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.
If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The University of Akron, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Students who want to apply for scholarships should visit the scholarship page on the Financial Aid site. You can find the link for the online application here.
The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

Elijah Scholarship
The Elijah Scholarship was established in 2016 by a generous couple who wish to remain anonymous. They desire to support an incoming freshman black male engineering student throughout his undergraduate study at The University of Akron.
The son of the couple entered 黄色直播’s College of Engineering in 2016 as an incoming freshman and received several offers from other universities. After selecting 黄色直播’s engineering program, he asked his parents to use the funds they would have spent on him at a more expensive university to support an engineering student at 黄色直播. The donors feel fortunate for the opportunity to provide a college education for their son and would like to offer the same educational opportunity to another student.
The Elijah Scholarship shall be awarded to one incoming freshman black male student enrolled in the College of Engineering at The University of Akron. The student must have financial need, as well as a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 and a 21 ACT or 980 SAT. The intent is to support the selected student through graduation (four years) with $11,000 annually for tuition and fees. If the student changes his major or is unable to maintain a 3.0 GPA, another scholarship recipient will be selected. The selection shall be made by the associate dean for Undergraduate Studies and the director of the Increasing Diversity in Engineering Academics program in the College of Engineering.
The recipient of The Elijah Scholarship will be encouraged to join the Increasing Diversity in Engineering Academics program (IDEAs), which is committed to enhancing enrollment, retention, and graduation of engineering students from underrepresented groups. The director of the IDEAs program will offer support to keep the scholarship recipient on track with his academic career.
