Women in Philanthropy Endowed Fund

The University of Akron Women in Philanthropy Endowed Fund, formerly known as The Women in Philanthropy Giving Circle Fund, was established in 2021 under the leadership of Marlene K. Toot, Chair of The University of Akron Foundation's Stewardship and Women in Philanthropy Committee, and First Lady Georgia Nix Miller.

Women in Philanthropy, launched under the umbrella of The University of Akron's We Rise Together Campaign, celebrates the profound impact of all philanthropists. Women in Philanthropy was established to engage benefactors in a concerted effort of organized and impactful giving.

The Women in Philanthropy Endowed Fund was established with funds raised above and beyond the annual fundraising goal of the Women in Philanthropy initiative. At inception of the program, the annual goal was $100,000, and donors exceeded the goal in its first two years. This fund is designated to support priorities of the President of the University, to serve its mission and uplift its students.
