Alford, Chef Richard W. Scholarship Fund
The Chef Richard W. Alford Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 to provide assistance for students in the Hospitality Management program at The University of Akron.
Chef Richard W. Alford, Certified Culinary Educator and Certified Executive Chef, graduated in 1974 with an associate degree in food service management and in 1975 with a bachelor of science degree in technical education from The University of Akron. He received numerous awards for his accomplishments both as an educator and culinary expert. This scholarship fund was established in recognition of Richard’s great service to students at The University of Akron. This scholarship is to be presented annually to one outstanding student in culinary arts. Scholarship recipients are to be selected by the faculty of the College.
