The Nellie Whittaker Endowed Scholarship in Music was created to honor the memory of a beloved music teacher. An accomplished pianist, Miss Whittaker instilled her love of music in countless students over the course of an esteemed teaching career. The Nellie Whittaker Endowed Scholarship in Music will assist a deserving undergraduate music major or graduate music student at The University of Akron, with preference given to piano majors. The recipient will be selected annually by the director of the School of Music in coordination with the Office of Student Financial Aid based on financial need.
