Mavrides, William A. Scholarship

The William A. Mavrides Scholarship was established in 1981 through a contribution from the Hellenic Club of The University of Akron and is being sustained in memory of William A. Mavrides, class of 1950, associate professor, College of Education, and club adviser. Endowment income is made available to a full-time University of Akron student and Hellenic Club member in good standing. All applicants must be undergraduate students of Greek origin and must have demonstrated scholastic ability and possess high qualities of citizenship, moral character, promise, and leadership, as well as be nominated by the Hellenic Club Scholarship Committee by January 1 of each year. Recipients are determined by the University Scholarship Committee.
