Hopper, Edward F. and Ruth Endowment Fund Scholarship

The Edward F. and Ruth A. Hopper Endowment Fund Scholarship was established out of Mr. and Mrs. Hopper’s desire to support and encourage young men who have demonstrated the capacity and motivation to achieve significant educational and career goals in life and have developed the leadership skills to achieve these goals through active participation in the Ohio Epsilon Chapter of Phi Delta Theta fraternity at The University of Akron.

Candidates for The Edward F. and Ruth A. Hopper Endowment Fund Scholarship must be full-time students (or the summer equivalent) enrolled at The University of Akron who are in good standing with Phi Delta Theta and The University of Akron. Application for the scholarship is to be made through the Phi Delta Theta Scholarship Board, The University of Akron Scholarship Committee, or The President of the Phi Delta Theta Foundation. The Scholarship Board, in turn, will make recommendations regarding the recipient(s) to Ed and Ruth Hopper or their designee. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, books, rent at the Phi Delta Theta House at The University of Akron, or related costs incurred to attend an annual conference. The award may be renewable provided the recipient(s) remain in good standing with The University of Akron and Phi Delta Theta fraternity.
