Sumner, Thomas Memorial Scholarship
To recognize outstanding scholarship and to stimulate students to greater achievement, the Lambda Chi Alpha Alumni Association established this endowed fund in 1978 and renamed it The Thomas Sumner Memorial Scholarship in 1979 in memory of Thomas Sumner, distinguished professor and former dean of the University College. Earnings are used to award scholarships to a Gamma Alpha Zeta chapter member with the highest cumulative GPA as a junior and to a member showing the most improvement in his academic work.
