Andreoli, Andre J. Scholarship Fund

The Andre J. Andreoli Scholarship Fund for football players was created in 2007 in memory of Mr. Andreoli. A graduate of The University of Akron, Mr. Andreoli was a member of the Zips football team. He holds the distinction of having scored the first touchdown in the Rubber Bowl in 1940.

Mr. Andreoli served four years in the U.S. Navy as a First Lieutenant during World War II in the Pacific Theater. After returning to Akron, he began an extensive business career that included developing numerous business properties. He also was CEO of several companies listed on The American Stock Exchange. Mr. Andreoli was one of Hilton Hotel’s first franchisees and a partner in several local restaurants.

Family and friends established the Andreoli Scholarship and made a gift in recognition of Mr. Andreoli’s contributions to the hospitality industry in the Akron area. Many businesses received their start from Mr. Andreoli, and he was well known and respected for his business acumen.
