French Ridge Title Company Scholarship

The French Ridge Title Company Scholarship was established in 2005 by Attorney Laurel J. Schmid to assist female Holmes County residents in financial need as they pursue their higher education goals at The University of Akron's Wayne College and its Holmes County Higher Education Center. The fund is held and administered through the Holmes County Education Foundation.

Laurel J. Schmid is active in the community and has a desire to assist local students, especially female students, to pursue their higher education dreams and goals. French Ridge Title Company located in Millersburg, works with banks, realtors, attorneys, mortgage brokers and individuals in handling all aspects of real estate transfers and other transactions involving real estate.

Eligible part-time or full-time students must demonstrate a financial need, be a female graduate of West Holmes High School and have a goal to complete a Bachelor's Degree. The award will be given annually to a qualifying student attending Wayne College or its Holmes County Higher Education Center. Awards shall be determined by Wayne College and the Holmes County Education Foundation. The scholarship application, renewal and selection process for awards are under the guidelines and auspices of the Holmes County Education Foundation.
