Hinch, Roy O. Endowed Scholarship

The Roy O. Hinch Endowed Scholarship is to be presented to students based on academic promise and need. It is the donor’s intention to encourage recipients to diligently approach their program of study in preparation for a productive and fulfilling career. It is hoped that recipients will be encouraged to choose the long-term benefit of education rather than yielding to the temptation of employment or other short- term gratification. The University of Akron Scholarship Committee has complete discretion in the awarding of a full or partial scholarship in any field of study selected by the applicant. To be considered for continued scholarship support, the normal expectation would be maintenance of a minimum 3.00 GPA and evidence of academic progress. Recipients demonstrating need and the personal characteristics of good citizenship may be considered for additional awards up to the completion of the baccalaureate degree or for one year of graduate-level study toward a master’s degree.
