Student-Athlete Emergency Assistance Fund

The Student-Athlete Emergency Assistance Fund was established in 2020-2021 to help provide support to student-athletes or teams in times of extraordinary need. The fund is accessible to all student-athletes who are on team rosters at The University of Akron. The monies committed to this fund are wholly derived from the generosity of Zips athletics supporters.

The Student-Athlete Emergency Assistance Fund was established as part of We Rise Together, the Campaign for The University of Akron.

Student-athlete or team needs are unexpected events that threaten to disrupt or prevent academic or athletic pursuits. The use of The Student-Athlete Emergency Assistance Fund is at the discretion of the Director of Athletics to assist student-athletes or teams during times of extraordinary need for purposes not covered by the NCAA or MAC Student Assistance funds. Financial ability indicators, such as EFC, Pell Grant eligibility, or athletic aid, are not to be considered as part of the awarding process through this fund.
