Wahl, Frank A. "Whitey" Athletic Scholarship
The Frank A. "Whitey" Wahl Athletic Scholarship was established in 1995 by "Whitey" Wahl, one of the most prolific athletes ever to play for The University of Akron. A three-sport performer in baseball, basketball, and football who is a member of the University's Athletic Hall of Fame, "Whitey" remained a loyal and enthusiastic supporter of his alma mater and initiated this fund with the idea of directly impacting the academic and athletic pursuits of a deserving student-athlete every year. The recipient of this annual award shall be a member of either the baseball, basketball, or football team. The young man shall place a priority on academic achievement and shall display the qualities of citizenship and sportsmanship that were held in high regard by "Whitey."
