Kropf Endowed Scholarship in Engineering

The Kropf Endowed Scholarship in Engineering was established in 2013 by Mrs. Ashley Bell. Mrs. Bell graduated from The University of Akron in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Her personal experience in having to assume all of the costs for a higher education led to her appreciation for scholarships, without which she could not have completed her degree. Mrs. Bell’s paternal grandfather, Mr. Eugene Kropf, urged her to attend Akron because he respected the excellence of its academic program in preparing graduates. It is Mrs. Bell’s intent to honor her grandfather and her time at The University of Akron by providing a scholarship for future students.

The Kropf Endowed Scholarship in Engineering was established to assist students seeking a baccalaureate degree in engineering, with a preference for students majoring in mechanical or electrical engineering who have demonstrated financial need. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic merit and financial need by the College of Engineering Scholarship Office.
