Collins, Bonnie Endowment for the Arts

The Bonnie Collins Endowment for the Arts was established in June 2024 upon receiving a generous gift from the estate of Bonnie Collins.

Mrs. Bonnie L. (Mullens) Collins (12/06/1930 - 01/02/2024) was an Akron native, graduating from South High School (1949) and The University of Akron, receiving her associate degree in secretarial science (1964) and bachelor's degree in science in business education (1971).

Bonnie's husband, Eunice E. Collins (11/16/1933 - 07/07/2013) attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from Garfield High School in 1952. The two were married on March 1, 1958.

Throughout their lives, The University of Akron was very dear to Mrs. Collins and her husband. Bonnie and Eunice regularly attended The University of Akron's annual Jingle Jazz concert and reception until Eunice's death in 2013. After that, Bonnie continued to attend the concert with friends whenever her health permitted.

The Bonnie Collins Endowment for the Arts was established as part of We Rise Together, the Campaign for The University of Akron.

The Bonnie Collins Endowment for the Arts is created to support University priorities in the visual, musical, and performing arts - including, but not limited to, scholarships for students majoring in the various programs within those disciplines - with a goal of continuing »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥'s embrace and enhancement of the arts on its campus, enriching the community and the region.
