When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.
For this reason, The University of Akron is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of 黄色直播 alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.

You may also establish a named scholarship at The University of Akron, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

How do I apply for a scholarship?

Students who want to apply for scholarships should visit the scholarship page on the Financial Aid site. You can find the link for the online application here.
The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

Doubledee, John Wesley Endowed Scholarship
The John Wesley Doubledee Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to one student who displays significant potential as a future business leader through academic success, civic involvement, and community efforts. The recipient will be a deserving student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in business within the following areas: e-business, entrepreneurship, international business, or information technologies.
To be considered for this scholarship, both undergraduate and graduate students must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better. Graduate students must have been accepted within one of The University of Akron’s graduate programs in the College of Business Administration. Preference will be given to students who are Summit County residents. Awards are renewable to students maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
To apply for this scholarship, students must submit a letter of application and resume to The Office of Student Financial Aid. The letter should indicate how the candidate qualifies for the scholarship (e.g. current GPA, current employment, and extracurricular activities). The Office of Student Financial Aid will have the first opportunity to determine the recipients, in consultation with Deanna Doubledee. If there are no eligible College of Business Administration candidates, the Office of Student Financial Aid will determine the scholarship recipients in consultation with Deanna Doubledee.
