When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.
For this reason, The University of Akron is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of 黄色直播 alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.
If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The University of Akron, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Students who want to apply for scholarships should visit the scholarship page on the Financial Aid site. You can find the link for the online application here.
The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

Burkins, Kenneth Fahs Endowed Scholarship
Kenneth Fahs Burkins graduated from The University of Akron in 1975 with a degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. He joined Akron Porcelain and Plastics Company in 1977 and currently serves as its vice president of sales and marketing. Ken has been actively involved with his alma mater as a past president of Phi Delta Theta fraternity and its House Corporation, member of University Council, Omicron Delta Kappa, the Order of Omega, and his Senior Class Board. Ken is a charter member of the College of Business Administration Fitzgerald Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies Advisory Board and past chair of the CBA Alumni Board. He also actively participates in the College’s Professor for a Day program. As a gift to her son and in recognition of his personal and professional success, Kenneth’s mother, Evelyn Fahs Burkins, established The Kenneth Fahs Burkins Endowed Scholarship.
Awards are to be based equally on academic merit and financial need, and leadership in college and community activities. Selection is to be made by the College of Business Administration scholarship committee in concert with the Office of Financial Aid but reviewed by Ken Burkins or a designated family member before announced or presented.
