Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy

Program Overview

The Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Program focuses on a core curriculum designed to prepare students to work from a systemic perspective with individuals, couples, families, and groups in a variety of mental health settings. The program consists of a minimum of 60 semester credit hours. The program’s curriculum, direct clinical contact hours, and supervision hours requirements align with COAMFTE v.12.5 standards. Direct clinical contact hours are obtained at the state of the art on-site Clinic for Individual and Family Counseling, as well as at clinical placements sites across Ohio. Students are eligible immediately upon graduation for Marriage and Family Therapy license in Ohio.

     Admission Requirements

  • School of Counseling application supplement form
  • Three letters of recommendation (departmental reference form)
  • Interview will be required for applicants who meet admission criteria

Application Deadline

Applications to the master's degree program in Marriage and Family Therapy are accepted on a rolling basis. Applicants are strongly urged to apply as soon as possible. New admits will not be accepted once the program reaches cohort capacity.
